Al Seeliger Elementary School

School

SeeligerESAl Seeliger Elementary School is located at 2800 S Saliman Rd in Carson City, Nevada. Enrollment is about 631 students in grades K-5. The Principal is Lee Conley, the Vice Principal is Wayland Denny, and the PE Specialist is Tara Hornemann.

Seeliger has two crossing guards, one at Saliman and Damon, the other at Saliman and Sonoma.

Seeliger was part of the 2005-2006 SRTS pilot program, is part of the 2008-2009 SRTS program, and will be included in the 2009-2011 SRTS grant application.

Seeliger participated in International Walk to School Day on October 8, 2008. About one third of the students walked, rode, or rolled to school that day, which is impressive given that 23% of the students take school buses. Students, and in many cases their families, participated with enthusiasm. Each person who got to school by human power received a sticker, pencil, keychain foot, and a chance at other prizes. Participation in the fall 2009 Walk to School Day is unknown.

Seeliger has the highest percentage of students using scooters in the district.
